Importance of Zinc

Zinc is an essential mineral that stimulates the action of about 100 enzymes in the body. The main sources of zinc in the diet are red meat and poultry, but other good sources include oysters and certain other seafood, beans, nuts, whole grains, and fortified breakfast cereals and dairy products, according to the National Institutes of Health.
