Eye Protection

Any time you're working around flying particles, splashing chemicals, harmful radiation or other eye hazards, you should wear goggles, a face shield or helmet, or some combination of these types of protective equipment. To preserve your vision:

  • Make sure the eyewear fits. Nearly 95 percent of injuries to workers wearing eye protection happen because objects or chemicals make their way around or under the protection.

  • Properly maintain your protective eyewear. Scratched or dirty lenses can limit your vision and lead to accidents.
