Exercise Intensity

How can you determine the intensity of your workout? Take the talk test. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if you can comfortably carry on a conversation while exercising, you are working out at a moderate intensity level. If you want to pick it up to a vigorous pace, the test is that you're too out of breath to talk. (If you can sing while working out, your intensity level is light.)
