Nix on the Supplements

Antioxidants such as beta-carotene and vitamins C and E, found in fruits and vegetables, are important for good health. But in a case of more isn't necessarily better, boosting your intake of antioxidants by taking supplements won't help protect against Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, new research shows. The study appeared in 2004 in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Experts recommend, instead, making sure your diet includes plenty of fruits and vegetables.
